Poipu Kapili is the perfect "Home on the Islands" to return to after your day at the beach, touring, or not moving at all, for a wonderful place of renewal & rejuvenation.  Condos are spacious, clean, and beautiful with every amenity.  Wonderful for families.  We have stayed here every year since 1983.  The staff is A #1 , extending the helpful "Aloha Spirit" to everyone.  Lots of sea life out front.  Turtles, spinner dolphins, manta rays, etc.  Great place for rainbows and sunsets.    B. Stayed at Poipu Kapili unit #47 for the 6th time for annual girls' trip. We enjoy this unit so much we keep coming back! Great view of both pool and ocean from the lanai. Love the recent renovations made to the unit including granite countertops in kitchen and both bathrooms, new kitchen appliances, air conditioning in bedroom, washer/dryer, ceramic tile in bedroom, ceramic tile showers in both bathrooms, etc. Appreciate the games and books available to use as well as beach gear. Grounds are very well maintained and maincured. Enjoy cooking out on the gas and charcoal grills available to guests. Office staff is very friendly and helpful. Office also has books and games available to borrow for free and DVD's for a small charge. Enjoy sitting on the lanai for meals, sitting on the stone wall across the road to watch the surfers and the sunset, and walking to Sheraton beach to jump the waves and boogie board. Looking forward to our next visit!

We selected the Poipu Kapili from an internet search. We had never been to Kauai before and had no idea where to stay. We liked what we saw and read on line and we were not disappointed. It was a fabulous place to stay. Very large units with full kitchen. The pool was amazing! The entire complex was immaculate, quiet, and gorgeous. We had a ground floor unit with a view of the pool and the ocean. We cannot say enough about what a great place this is to stay.

After reading such great reviews on Poipu Kapili we decided to make a reservation. It was everything we hoped for! We were assigned a 2nd floor end unit and at first were a little concerned that we wouldn't get as much breeze or ocean view, but it ended up being just fine. The unit was absolutely spotless and had EVERYTHING we could possibly need, from toiletries, to appliances and kitchen gadgets, to beach accessories. The days were warm, but the evenings cooled down quite a bit and with the ceiling fans going we were never uncomfortable at night. The front desk personnel were extremely helpful and gave us great tips on places to go and things to do, which is always helpful.

The Poipu Beach area in general was fantastic. We rarely saw a cloud in the sky and not once did we see a rain drop (at least during the day/evening hours). It's in a perfectly central location so a relatively brief car ride can get you to the canyons in one direction, or to the north shore in the other direction. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, many beaches to try out (the Sheraton's sandy beach is an easy walk from the condo), and of course the pool is right in the center of the property. We were so pleased to have a fully equipped kitchen, as the restaurants can be pricey. We made a couple of runs to the grocery stores and were able to cook most of our dinners "at home", which saved a lot of money. There are several grills on the property so it was fun to make a cocktail and grill out.

We were concerned when we saw a construction site directly behind the property, but we learned that construction had been halted for financial reasons, so it was a non-issue. Who knows when (or if) it will start back up again, but it would probably be wise to check, just in case.

We definitely want to come back to Kauai sometime, and after exploring a great deal of the island we decided that Poipu Kapili is where we'll book again. There are obviously a LOT of condos, hotels, and rental houses to choose from, but to us Poipu Kapili was the best of all worlds -- convenience, amenities, affordability, and peacefulness. It was an A+ vacation!
