Q - How far is Poipu Kapili from the airport?

A - You'll enjoy a scenic 20 - 25 minute drive from the Lihue airport to our doorstep. Printed directions to the property are on the site.

Q - What are the differences between the various unit categories?

A - Every condominium at Poipu Kapili offers a lovely, white-water view of the ocean.

Our one-bedroom condos all surround the pool, located in buildings #4 and #5 on the site plan. The oceanview condos provide a view of the ocean from your private lanai (patio or balcony). The deluxe one- bedroom condos feature ocean views from within the condo, as well as from the private lanai.

The superior and deluxe two-bedroom condos are located along the oceanfront in buildings #1, 2, 6 & 7. Superior condos are corner condos, with both front and side lanais. Deluxe condos have a single lanai facing the ocean. Views are comparable in all oceanfront condos.

Q - Can we request a specific unit?

A - Poipu Kapili is a small property and in order to accommodate all reservations, we are unable to guarantee a particular unit number. Specific requests may be made, and we will do our best to honor them. However, we cannot guarantee a specific unit number.

Q - Are you right on the beach?

A - The shoreline directly in front of the property is rocky. A small, two-lane road, ending in a cul-de-sac, separates the property from the ocean. You'll enjoy dramatic ocean views unencumbered by beach umbrellas and sunbathers. There are several lovely, white sand swimming beaches within a few minutes walk. Views of the walkway and the nearby beach may be viewed on our panorama photos.

Q - Is Poipu Kapili child friendly?

A - The spaciousness and luxurious comfort of our condominiums provide families with a relaxing and peaceful "home away from home". Many families return to Poipu Kapili year after year, enjoying the surrounding beaches and many island attractions, then retreating to the elegant comfort of their Poipu Kapili condo for a quiet evening after a day of play in the sun.

We welcome families to Poipu Kapili. However, we ask that parents provide supervision for their children, respecting the privacy of other guests and maintaining the peaceful, serene ambiance for which our property is known. Pool and House Rules are strictly enforced. Because the pool is situated in the center of the property, excessive pool noise can easily disrupt other guests in their condos. Pool hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Toys and flotation devices are not allowed in the pool. No screaming or loud play is allowed at the pool or elsewhere at Poipu Kapili, and such devices as scooters, skateboards or bicycles cannot be used on the property. Our intention is not to limit your children's fun, but to ensure a safe and restful visit for all Poipu Kapili guests.

Q - Do you have a babysitting service?

A - We can provide you with a referral list of excellent babysitters who will come to your condominium when you need a night out. Our guests may also participate in the wonderful keiki (children's) program offered at the Sheraton Hotel located next door to us.

Q - Are Beach/Pool towels supplied?

A - You will find a supply of pool towels in your condominium upon arrival. One-bedroom condos are supplied with 6 pool towels; two- bedroom condos are supplied with 10 towels.

Q - What are the front desk hours, and what do we do if arriving after hours?

A - Our staff is on duty from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. If you are arriving after hours, your keys will be placed in a lock box on the side of the office. You will need to use your access code (written on your confirmation letter) to retrieve your keys.

Q - Are there blow dryers, irons and ironing boards in my condominium?

A - You will find an iron and ironing board in every unit. Most condos are not equipped with blow dryers. We have a few available to loan out, should you find you only need a dryer for a particular occasion or event.

Q - What will I find in my kitchen?

A - Poipu Kapili condominiums are well equipped, with everything from small electrical appliances like toaster, blender, coffee maker and electric can opener to complete bake and cookware. You'll find salt & pepper, a starter packet of coffee, sugar and non-dairy creamer. Fresh herbs may be cut from the Poipu Kapili herb garden.

Q - Do you have a restaurant on property?

A - Poipu Kapili is more a home environment than a resort so you will not find a restaurant on the property. There are several excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk and many more within a few minutes drive. Poipu is known for its varied dining. You will find everything from pastries to sandwiches to gourmet dining right in our neighborhood.

Q - Can you arrange activities for us?

A - Our staff is here to help you with anything you desire, from making restaurant reservations to arranging boat and helicopter tours to describing great hikes for you. Just ask us.

Q - Do you have meeting rooms for small business groups?

A - Poipu Kapili is a perfect place for small business groups and company incentive groups. There is not a meeting room on property but we are happy to arrange meeting facilities for your group at the Sheraton Hotel next door.

Q - Is there a grocery store near you?

A - There are several local grocery stores in our area. However, if you are seeking a larger store with bakery and deli you will probably want to stop on your way from the airport at the Star Market in Lihue. As you are leaving Lihue on the way to Poipu, you will see the Kukui Grove Shopping Center on your left side (Taco Bell, Burger King and Liberty House face the highway.) Star Market is located in this shopping center.
